ACT Government has announced that the ACT 190 Nomination program will reopen to ALL applicants on 29 November 2018 with a new system for determining nominated applicants.

From 29 November 2018, applying for ACT 190 nomination is a two stage process:

You must formally express your clients interest in applying for ACT 190 nomination by completing a score-based ‘Canberra Matrix’ where they are allocated points against demonstrated economic contribution or benefit and/or a genuine commitment to be part of the ACT community. Scores of 20 points and above will be ranked. The highest ranked candidates under the scoring system will then be selected and invited to apply for ACT 190 nomination.
If they are invited to apply for ACT 190 nomination, you must complete and submit the online application (and pay the service fee) within 14 days. You must attach the required documents to evidence your client’s eligibility and Matrix score. If you cannot evidence the Matrix score that the invitation was based on, the application for ACT 190 nomination will not meet the nomination criteria.

Tuesday 27 November 2018 – ACT online system shutdown The ACT Government’s current system will go OFF LINE at 4pm (AEST) on Tuesday 27 November 2018 to enable the system change over to the Matrix. If you intend to start an application for ACT nomination for an ‘open’ occupation (under the current nomination criteria), the application must be submitted (and service fee paid) before 4 pm on Tuesday 27 November 2018. Any ‘in progress’ applications that have not been submitted (and service fee paid) by 4pm will automatically lapse and cannot be reactivated. Any applications lodged and paid for before 4pm on Tuesday 27 November will be assessed and finalised under the existing guidelines.
